A Night in Alto Adige: Regional Dinner

Thursday, February 25, 2016  |  6:30PM
$185 (Inclusive of hospitality; a wine pairing is available for an additional $100 pp).
Limited to 22 guests

Join us for a tasting tour of the food and wine of Alto Adige. This picturesque Alpine area is a cultural melting pot, due to its geography and history. German is a more common language than Italian and the region is referred to as Südtirol. This small valley bordering Austria and Switzerland was used as the main passage between Italy and Europe. It did not officially become part of the country until 1919 and is now a destination for those seeking its incredible diverse gastronomy and scenic vistas.

While Alto Adige represents only 0.7% of Italy’s total production, it leads the country in wine meriting a DOC designation: 98% of its wines fall into this category. Some of the most recognized wines coming from the area are white, but the region actually supplies a larger quantity of reds. In addition to the Italian and German influence, French varietals have been more widespread than local grapes.
A multi-course dinner inspired by the dishes of this region will be paired with Alto Adige wines for an additional $100pp.

The evening begins with a reception accompanied by amuse bouche and prosecco. Included in the ticket price is the hospitality fee, as well as piccolo pasticceria to ensure you depart on a sweet note.
