Collaboration Dinner with Cafe Lutecia

Tuesday, November 26, 2019  |  6:30PM
$225 Includes sommelier-selected wines and hospitality fee
Limited to 18 guests

Born in Paris and raised in Biarritz, the Basque region of France, Chef Valerie Blum is a chef who considers herself not a chef, but a self-proclaimed "woman who likes to cook." Her cooking draws heavily from the Basque culinary tradition of her childhood and emphasizes quality ingredients and technique over complexity and frills.

Nearly thirty years ago, Valerie and her husband and culinary partner, Jon, opened Cafe Lutecia in Philadelphia's Fitler Square neighborhood. The cafe quickly became a popular fixture, serving classic French breakfast and lunch fare with the comfort and simplicity of Valerie's cuisine du terroir approach.

In March 2016, the cafe began serving a Tuesday night Basque dinner - featuring a rotating menu of popular and obscure French dishes - which garnered critical acclaim and lines of people waiting along the sidewalk. Due to her lifelong struggle with Cystic Fibrosis, Valerie has postponed the Tuesday night dinners, as well as prospects of opening a full-service Basque restaurant, to maintain energy for her initial endeavor: the cafe.

We're so thrilled to have Valerie and Jon with us in our private dining room for what is sure to be a unique and memorable night!
