Counter Dinner
Carmignano, Morellino, Predappio, Torignano
Tuesday, August 13, 2024 | 6:00PM
$275 4 wines, 4 course dinner, & gratuity
Limited to 9 guests
We’re declaring it the summer of Sangiovese. Why? Because without it, there would be no Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, or Brunello di Montalcino. All to say, it’s one of the most important and widely planted grape varietals in Italy.
Beverage Director & Sommelier, Bobby Domenick, alongside, Enrique Gasparini, another familiar face and voice of Vetri Cucina plan to take guests on a spin of Sangiovese.
So now we know, Sangiovese is a wildly popular grape and yet there are still lesser-known interpretations of the varietal coming from various appellations. Together we’ll explore the wines of Central Tuscany's Carmignano, Coastal Morellino di Scansano, Emilia Romagna's expression of Predappio Sangiovese, and Umbria's Torignano Rubesco.
Fun Fact: Montepulciano is also the name of a grape, one that’s different from Sangiovese. It’s grown in the Abruzzo region of Italy, where it makes a wine called Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. This hearty red is more of a value wine. Ask Bobby for recommendations!
This event will be hosted at the Chef Counter and includes 4 wines, a 4 course-dinner, & gratuity.
