Regional Dinner: A Night in Friuli

Join us for a tasting tour of the food and wine of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Known as Friuli, the region is situated in the northeastern corner of Italy, with Slovenia on the east, Austria to the north and the Adriatic Sea to the south. As a result, the cuisine of this region includes flavors and styles from its varied cultural and historical influences.

Local gastronomy is also influenced by its diverse terrain, including snow-capped mountains, warm sandy beaches, rocky coastal cliffs and an enchanting countryside, making this region a "small compendium of the universe".

Additionally, Friuli is one of the most beautiful and unique wine regions in Italy. Just as its geographical position has given this region an array of cultural influences, so has its varied terroir allowed it to cultivate an astonishing mix of grape varieties. Today the region is known for its myriad of small, high quality family-run vineyards and diverse production of indigenous and International grape varietals.

We hope you will be able to join us for an adventure into the food, wine and culture of Friuli. The night will begin with a welcome reception and will continue with a multi-course dinner that Chef Joe DeLago is creating with inspiration from dishes of this region. Sommelier Tara Fay is choosing wines to pair from our collection to include:
- A 2011 Venica magnum
- 2011 Ronco del Gnemiz
- 2007 La Due Terre
- 2006 Ronchi di Cialla
- Nonino's amazing grappa and amaro
